Daily Kibble Warm-Hearted Wednesday: A Special Little Boy and a Special Not-So-Little Dog
It’s no surprise that animals can change our lives for the better. That’s just what a sweet young boy with a rare genetic disorder discovered when his family adopted Haatchi. Owen, known affectionately as “Little B,” was born with a muscle disorder that causes pain and limited mobility. Haatchi the dog suffered terrible injuries when, as a pup, he was hit in the head and left for dead tied to a train track. He was hit by the train, suffering a partially severed leg and tail. But rescue folks stepped in and saved him, offering him a foster home and a second chance at finding the loving home he deserved.
Perhaps their special histories made it even more special when their paths crossed: from the moment Little B saw Haatchi and Haatchi saw Little B, they were inseparable. Haatchi surrounds Little B with love and has helped him to grow more confident, not to mention giving him endless reasons to smile. And Little B gives Haatchi what every rescued pup hopes to receive, unconditional love. To learn more about this beautiful story, see the short film on YouTube and read the book, Haatchi & Little B: The Inspiring True Story of One Boy and His Dog, by Wendy Holden.
