Today is World Cat Day - Meowza!

Let me think. How to celebrate World Cat Day? There are so many options. ;o) You could rub yourself against the leg of your special someone. You could stalk and pounce on a small child. You might even be inclined to smell a healthy dose of catnip and see where that takes you. But all kidding aside, here are some better (and more politically correct) ways to celebrate the cats in your life.

Worldwide there are about 60 cat breeds. An estimated 500 million domesticated cats inhabit our planet and owning a cat has been shown to improve mental health and to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

So roll out the red carpet and the catnip because today is that one day of the year when black cats bring good luck and cat eye sunglasses match any wardrobe. And be sure to buy your feline friend something special and donate to your favorite cat charity.
