Curbing Destructive Behavior with Cesar Millan

Destructive behavior is often the result of separation anxiety. Be sure to get your dog comfortable with being along from the moment you bring him home. The reality is that most people have to go to work and leave their dogs alone for several hours a day. Good pack leaders get their dog used to that reality, starting at puppyhood. Start in small steps – go outside to take out the trash and then come back. Go to the store and come back. Work your way up from a minute to ten minutes to a couple of hours and your dog will soon trust that his pack leader will return. They can then rest and be secure when they are home alone.
