Housebreaking Your Puppy with Cesar Millan
When housebreaking a new puppy, bring him outside first thing in the morning, immediately after each meal, after he awakens from a nap, and after long play sessions. Remember to remain consistent! Dogs love routine and repetition is the key to maintaining good habits. Feed and walk your puppy around the same time every day. Remember, dogs don’t understand the concept of weekends or holidays. If you want to sleep late on a Sunday, take your puppy out first and then go back to bed. If you discover that your puppy has had an accident, be sure to thoroughly clean the entire area with a product like the Swiffer Wet Cloths, which clean and neutralize the odor of the mess. It’s very important that he not associate his “den” with the toilet.
